In this application the client required 8 hours backup for a 500W load comprising of network data switches. From the Power Inspired UPS Selector you can establish that for a 500W load a VFI3000RT+ with three additional battery cabs will provide the required runtime. The system also needed to be rack mounted and fitted with an SNMP network card.
The UPS itself contains an internal 72V 9Ah battery tray and each cabinet contains 2 such trays (eg a 72V 18Ah capacity per cabinet). Each cabinet is fitted onto our adjustable rack rails which are available in two flavours a 500-1000mm extending which is suitable for short telecom racks or 600-1200mm for larger systems. Each cabinet requires it’s own rail.
Power resilience is provided with the use of the Power Inspired Bypass Bar. If the UPs should develop a fault (for example an overload or overtemperature), the system will revert to bypass mode. This is an option in the UPS settings. To check out the UPS, simply turn the switch from Normal to Bypass and the bypass bar will redirect power from the mains to the system without any loss in power. Once the problem with the UPS has been rectified, then the reverse process is followed. It should be noted that you must ensure the UPS is in bypass mode before activating the bypass bar.
